The brief was to create a refillable hand sanitiser dispenser that would fit into contemporary washrooms. Key focus was put on reliability, design simplicity, repairability and hygene.

Working closely with the client we created a range of sketch concepts and developed the strongest before moving on to 3D modelling.

The final design is intuitive to use and easy to clean with a minimal aesthetic  that can be used across a range of washroom products in the future.

The product lifecycle was considered at every stage of the design process.

Using common internal sensors and components where possible to reduce cost and improve the reliability and repairability of the dispenser.

We designed the dispenser to be injection moulded and worked with the manufacturer to create a product that was easy to mould and assemble.

We used robust fixings and designed the dispenser to be easily disassembled and recycled at the end of its life.

The polymer for the housing was chosen for it's antibacterial qualities and recyclability.
